I was born and raised in Tucson. I have been volunteering in my community since I could drive. I have always had the desire to serve others, especially veterans and first responders. My grandfather’s both served; one in the Vietnam War and one in Korea. I also have a lot of family members currently working as firefighters here in town. Being around so many of these incredibly individuals has brought me to where I am today- fortunate to give back by sitting on the SAMH/Operation 22 team. Not only am I blessed to be here with other fantastic people, but I am fortunate to be able to run my own nonprofit here in town, Operation Resource Arizona. Together we can continue to work towards helping and healing our heroes through music and camaraderie. I am beyond honored to be put in a position that gives me the opportunity to give back to the heroes in our community.

We spent about 3 years in total camping all over the US, Canada and Europe in a VW Camper my parents bought in Germany.
Music has always been a big part of my life. From the AM transistor radio I listened to under the covers after ”lights out” to meeting my favorite artists on country radio, music has been a constant. Because of music, I have had amazing adventures, traveled, made life-long friends, experienced the unimaginable and found strength. Music was what started the healing after the Route 91 shooting; a song sung at the Grand Ole Opry 3 nights later by Eric Church, “Why Not Me?”
Using music to give others that healing and strength to address such an urgent need in our community make so much sense to me. I want to give as much energy and passion to the Southern Arizona Musicians for Healing as possible to support the Military and First Responders who are or who have faced the unimaginable.
Deborah "Jane" is a survivor of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival shooting in Las Vegas. As a physician in Tucson, she wants to advocate for and support the emotional and mental well-being for the Military and First Responders in her community.

I have worked in the restaurant industry for most of my life and have worked in every position from busser to general manager. My station in life has always been to serve. Eight years ago I found myself working for a nonprofit organization as a supervisor at the dining facility on Davis Monthan Air Force Base. My eldest son was in the Army and has recently retired after 22 years of service. I was proud to aid the great people at DM and felt patriotic in my service to them. This was a unique opportunity for me. Not only was I providing support for our service men and woman, I was providing work skills and life skills to disabled adults. The work that I was doing in the program was instrumental in changing the lives of so many people. I was helping change their lives but most importantly they changed mine. You never know what small act of kindness will make the largest impact on someone’s life. If I can make a difference in one person’s life, than this is success to me.
Our community has many amazing organizations that have programs that are impacting the lives of so many of our military, first responders and mental health communities. Who doesn’t want to be a part of a benevolent organization that raises money through music? Music has always soothed my soul and empowered me to achieve my goals. Through our actions we can raise awareness and funds. What could be better?
I am honored and privileged to have been welcomed by SAMH and will put all of my talents to raise awareness and support in any form that I can for the great organizations in our community.
I have been in the service industry my whole life. I am always happiest when I am of service to others. The mission of SAMH is near and dear to my heart on many levels. Music has always been where my soul finds peace.
It is my privilege to work with these amazing people at SAMH to continue to help many of the amazing programs in our Southern Arizona community continue to do their great work!

I moved from Iowa to Arizona but was too young to join the police academy. My life brought me into security where I worked in retail and was Loss Prevention Manager for Costco. I found that I was very good at catching shop lifters.
At 30 I was having blood clots and was diagnosed with Lupus and RA. I was blessed that I was able to stay home and raise my children.
With this I found that I had a natural talent for renovation homes and created our rental business.
I have always enjoyed helping wherever I am needed and volunteer with many organizations. I am currently the Senior Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary with VFW Post 549.
When my husband came up with this idea for our non-profit I was not readily on board. Being a survivor of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival mass massacre, I am glad that we have and are able to continue to assist so many wonderful Southern Arizona organizations that help so many of our First Responders, Military, Veterans and those that are struggling to make it through another day.

My dad is my biggest hero. Throughout my child hood I repeatedly watched him help anyone that ask for a helping hand. One day at the nonprofit a woman came to the site and asked for a bed. I was happy to get her the bed and delivered it to her. My Dad helped me with the delivery and when we arrived no one in her family had a bed. There were 6 family members total. My Dad looked at me and said this won’t do. Dad and I went back and got beds for all of them and dressers and other furniture for the entire house. I assisted in setting up the beds. My Dad was talking to the Grandmother and I saw my Dad give his last bit of money to the Grandmother. She broke down and thanked him because of that generosity she was able to get her heart medication. From that day I learned God puts us where we need to be to help those who need it most.
In my home town I founded 2 nonprofit organizations to help the homeless and the military homeless. We gave everything from feeding them hot meals to getting them to the VA hospitals that was 2-hour drive from the town.
I am excited to work with the Southern Arizona Musician for Healing and continue to help those who need it most.
I believe in the power of music to heal! I have seen this miracle happen right in front of my eyes. I have a disabled son that learned to communicate his traumatic experience through music. And I had the joy of watching him grow into a successful functioning adult. We do many videos on Tick Tock too.
